Lavrio outs AEK for first Greek Cup semifinal berth

Lavrio upset AEK, 90-85, in overtime on Wednesday for a spot in the Greek Cup semifinals. A massive win for the hosts included in the top four teams of the competition for the first time in club history.

The rookie coming out of Providence, Alpha Diallo produced a team-high 23 points. Vassilis Mouratos went for 19 and Devin Davis finished with 16 points. Daryl Macon threw in a game-high 24 points in the Greek Cup exit for the defending champions.

The quarterfinal featuring Panathinaikos OPAP at home versus Peristeri was postponed due to the multiple coronavirus cases registered by the Greens. Lavrio awaits the winner in the next round.

The other semifinal was set as PAOK will host Promitheas on Friday. Both advancing teams punched in their ticket prevailing on the road against Iraklis, 63-61, and Kolossos, 73-68, respectively.
