Macon, Clavell post 40-point games, AEK ties series against Promitheas

In a rare turn of events in the Greek League, AEK and Promitheas both had a player with 40+ points, as the Athens side got a 113-101 victory to tie the third-place series 1-1.

Daryl Macon Jr. led the way for AEK with a new career-high performance of 42 points on 9 out of 11 three-point shooting, along with 4 assists in just 25 minutes.

At the same time, Promitheas’ Gian Clavell had 45 points, with 6 out of 11 efforts from afar and 12 for 20 from mid-range in 35 minutes on the court, for a new career-high as well!

Adding up to Macon’s efforts for AEK, Yannick Moreira had 14 points, Nikos Gkikas and Konstantinos Gontikas posted 12 points apiece and Vladimir Jankovic added 11 points.

The series will now continue in Patra for Game 3 on Sunday (June 6).
