Milan Tomic has been waiting for the right opportunity to take on the coaching role again and he finally found it. According to Eurohoops sources, Tomic has agreed to a deal with Peristeri and is expected to sign and join the team immediately.

Tomic came into the forefront of Peristeri’s search after the negotiations with Elias Papatheodoru failed, as the club couldn’t meet his requirements.

The new coach is expected to make changes to the roster, with Ian Miller (10.1 points-2.6 assists in 8 games) expected to be a thing of the past, as the team intends to bring back Steven Gray (2018-2021), who left last January for Igokea.

Tomic has been an interim coach in Olympiacos for a decade (2008-2018) before taking over Crvena Zvezda in the 2018-19 season. He was without a job since. With Zvezda, he won the ABA SuperCup, ABA League, and the Serbian League ttitles.

Peristeri failed to advance past the group stage of the FIBA Europe Cup, finishing with a 2-4 record while in the Greek League, they hold a 4-4 record at the eighth spot.
