Olympiacos Piraeus registered its 50th straight win over all domestic competitions by beating Promitheas Patras 89 – 77 at home for Round 18 in the Greek League. This unprecedented record includes games in the Greek League, Cup and SuperCup tournaments since November 2021 and the Reds’ last loss (to archrival Panathinaikos Athens at home).

Alec Peters scored 16 points, Moustapha Fall had 13 points plus eight rebounds and Sasha Vezenkov dropped 12 points for Olympiacos that was without Kostas Sloukas (calf) and Tarik Black (rest).

Joe Thomasson led the efforts of Promitheas with 19 points. Anthony Cowan scored 13 and dished out six assists while Vassilis Mouratos added 13 points for the Patras side that was quite competitive against the first-seeded team right now in EuroLeague.

After trailing 51 – 37 early in the second half, Promitheas came back and approached 57 – 54. near the end of the third period. Olympiacos got a lead beyond shooting distance again but the visiting side remained persistent until their opponents made a 14-4 run down the stretch to go up 82 – 67 with 2:13. There was no turning back from that margin.
