Olympiacos secured an 85-98 win in Rhodes, but the night will be remembered for Sasha Vezenkov’s dramatic ejection after a clash with Kolossos forward Andreas Petropoulos.
The incident erupted early in the fourth quarter as the two battled for position in the paint. Petropoulos pushed back after Vezenkov appeared to lock his arm around him, and Vezenkov reacted by striking him, earning an immediate disqualification. Petropoulos was assessed an unsportsmanlike foul.
Despite missing key guards and losing Tyrique Jones to injury in the second half, Olympiacos held firm and improved to 15–0 in the Stoiximan GBL, while Kolossos dropped to 4–11. The win was highlighted by Tyson Ward’s historic triple-double — 18 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, and 2 steals, with only one turnover.
Before the ejection, Vezenkov scored 23 points and finished as Olympiacos’ top scorer, while Devon Hall added 18 points and eight rebounds. Tyler Dorsey followed with 15 and Alec Peters chipped in with 10.
Chasson Randle led the hosts with 26 points and six assists, while Telvin Mack added 22.
To finish GBL’s round 16, Panathinaikos defeated Maroussi with a comfortable 92-81 final score. Despite Maksim Salash’s great game (20 points), the victory for Ergin Ataman’s side was never in doubt thanks to TJ Shorts (13 p.), Vassilis Toliopoulos (12 p.), Jerian Grant (11 p.) and three players with ten points each: Kenneth Faried, Nikos Rogkavopoulos and Kostas Sloukas.
