Olympiacos secured a victory in Game 3 of the Greek Championship finals by defeating Panathinaikos at SEF with a score of 102-92.
After the third match, Olympiacos holds a 2-1 lead and will have the opportunity to finish everything in Wednesday’s game and become the Greek champion once again.
Evan Fournier played an incredible game, finishing with 28 points and eight assists. Sasha Vezenkov added 24, Nikola Milutinov had 17, Tyson Ward contributed with 12 points, while Thomas Walkup had 11.
On the other side, Jerian Grant scored 19 points, TJ Shorts added 15, Nigel Hayes-Davis 12, Mathias Lessort scored 11, and both Juancho Hernangomez and Kendrick Nunn had 10 points. In this game, Ataman couldn’t count on Cedi Osman.
We witnessed another drama in the Greek finals, watched live by Kawhi Leonard, Novak Djokovic, and Bogdan Bogdanovic, which ended with the ejection of Ergin Ataman.
After a tied first half, which Olympiacos led 47-45, the hosts made a key run at the end of the third and the beginning of the fourth quarter, with excellent play by Fournier.
Panathinaikos managed to come back and reduce the deficit to four points with two minutes remaining after Grant’s three-pointer (88-84), but Walkup responded with a three-pointer that sealed the game in Piraeus.
The fourth game of the finals is scheduled for Wednesday, starting at 20:00 CET.
