In the second quarterfinal game between Kifissia and Aris, for the Greek Championship, we witnessed one of the most epic and simultaneously suicidal, own-baskets ever in the league’s history. And not only, perhaps.
During the very last seconds of overtime the score was 95 – 93 in favor of the hosts. Victory and the 1-1 in the series, was at hand! But after a defensive rebound, Jermaine Marshall of Kifissia scored… in his team’s own basket making it 95 – 95, at the sound of the buzzer! Thus the game went to the second overtime where… Aris took the victory, and with it, the qualification to the semifinals.
