Nick Calathes’ fever wasn’t an obstacle, rather than an extra motive, as Panathinaikos outdid Olympiacos 71-58 in Game 4 and tied the series. The captain of the Greens scored 14 points and recorded 4 assists, while his partner in crime Chris Singleton also finished the game with 14 points and 9 rebounds.

Panathinaikos took control of its homecourt with Calathes leading the way in the first period, while at the same time, the visitors were prone to turnovers and also were trailed 18-11 after 10 minutes.

Erick Green and Giorgos Printezis helped Olympiacos in the second half, while Kostas Papanikolaou’s defense played a crucial role for the Reds. Still, Singleton and Calathes worked perfectly together and the hosts led 39-28 at halftime.

The deficit reached double-digits in the second half, as Panathinaikos led 45-30 in the middle of the third quarter and through incredible defense, the hosts led by 20 after 30 minutes, 59-39.

As much as Olympiacos tried to minimize the gap in the final period, the Greens never missed control and always kept their safe distance throughout the period.
