Panathinaikos advances to the Greek cup semifinals

Panathinaikos’ first official game of the season turned out to be a blowout victory over Kolossos Rhodes. The final score, after all, says it all: 54-84.Panathinaikos is now six years and 19 games unbeaten in the Greek Cup.

With Nick Calathes leading the way (12 points/6 assists), and captain Ian Vougioukas (14 points), Matt Lojeski (14 points) following, Panathinaikos showcased a great offense and outscored the team from Rhodes. Panathinaikos was also really impressive on the defensive side of the court as they only allowed 54 points to Kolossos, which eventually was the key to this game.

Xavi Pascual’s team is now getting ready for the tough game on Saturday against rivals Olympiacos, which will also be the first game of the Basket League new season.
