Olympiacos won’t compete in the Greek League playoffs series against Panathinaikos starting off Monday, as made known this Saturday. The team has been informed for this decision by owner Giorgos Aggelopoulos. That being said, the Reds will be relegated to the second division of Greece, while leaving an open door for the Adriatic League.

The Greek Basket League board met on Saturday morning and once more turned down Olympiacos‘ requests and legal actions taken earlier on. With that in mind, the General Secretariat of Sports could cancel the last game day of the regular season.

Olympiacos holds on to its decision not to play after referees Tasos Manos and Panagiotis Anastopoulos were drawn to officiate the first game of the playoffs against Panathinaikos.
