Kevin Punter: I want a championship with Olympiacos

Kevin Punter is no stranger to Greece, having won a Basketball Champions League title with AEK Athens in the 2017-2018 season. Now he wants to keep up with adding trophies to his collection with Olympiacos as a EuroLeague rookie, to follow up for last year’s success with Virtus Bologna as well.

[The goal is] To win another championship. That’s the goal from the summertime. Knowing that I was coming here, my goal every day was to work hard. So when I come here, I would try to compete for another championship. I won a couple of championships in my last two years, so this year it’s the same. It’s the same goals, it’s the same target”, he tells in his interview with Eurohoops at the start of the 2019-20 season.

Playing just once a week (since Olympiacos is not taking part in the Greek League) is no strange to Punter. He has already experienced that during his time in Lavrio BC at the beginning of his career. Even with this limited time of playing official games, he is always ready to take shots in crucial moments, something he works hard for as he tells.

“Always comfortable [to take the last shot], always… I work extremely hard for moments like that. So, any time in the moments that we need a shot, a big shot or a play, I am always going to be willing to take on that shot”, he mentions.
