Nestor Garcia takes over Argentina

Nestor Garcia has been appointed as head coach of the Argentinian national team, David Carro of Octagon Europe announced on Twitter. Garcia is succeeding longtime Argentina head coach Sergio Hernandez.

Over a coaching career that has spanned four decades, Garcia has worked with numerous teams in America, Asia and Europe, including very brief stints with the Argentinian national team as head coach and assistant. He was the head coach of Spanish ACB League club Fuenlabrada from 2017-2019 before taking over the national team of the Dominican Republic.

Garcia’s first assignment at his new post will be the 2022 FIBA AmeriCup.
