Manu Lecomte led Belgium against Argentina in a friendly game

In the first of two friendly games in Brno, Czech Republic, the Belgian national team had the better of Argentina by beating the Albiceleste 85-84, pretty much controlling the encounter from the beginning until the end, where Facundo Campazzo tried to put his team back on track.

Manu Lecomte was the real star for the Belgian Lions, ending the game with an exceptional stat line of 27 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists. The newest Surne Bilbao Basket’s 20-year-old addition Thijs De Ridder followed him with 19 points and 7 rebounds in only 21:00 minutes on the court.

On Pablo Prigioni’s losing side, Facundo Campazzo had a pretty impressive game despite the defeat with 23 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists. Nicolas Brussino assisted him in the starting five with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Juan Fernandez came off the bench to deliver 17 points and 5 boards.

Both teams will be occupied in the 2023 FIBA Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournaments, respectively for America and Europe. Argentina will play at home in Group A against Cuba, Panama, and DeAndre Ayton’s Bahamas, while Belgium is suited to play in Turkey’s Group D against the Netherlands, Croatia, and Sweden.
