Argentinian coach Sergio Hernandez confirmed today that Manu Ginobili will play with the Argentinian national team in the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio. “It’s a very brave and wise decision”, said the coach.

Hernandez spoke on the phone with Ginobili and he couldn’t hide his pleasure: “To say that this makes me happy personally it’s very insignificant. He can close his career in the national teams playing once more in the Olympic Games. It is one of the most important news for the Argentine sports today. Ginobili is an emblem. Welcome Manu. And enjoy it”.

So far Ginobili has played 98 games with the national team, scoring a total of 1498. This will be his fourth Olympic tournament, after winning the gold medal in Athens back in 2004. His last game with the national team was at the London Olympics on August 12, 2012, against Russia.
