Itoudis reportedly has a deal with the Greek NT, CSKA has the final word

As Greek website SDNA reported, Itoudis met in Moscow with the Greek federation president Giorgos Vasilakopoulos and the two sides have a verbal deal. The Greek federation is in the market for a coach since last summer for the upcoming Eurobasket 2017.

However, Itoudis can’t coach the Greek national team without having the permission of CSKA Moscow and here’s the point where things are getting tricky, because every national team should have a full time coach from next season, because of the qualifying windows during the season. Itoudis on the other hand has a contract with CSKA Moscow until 2019. It remains to be seen how the situation will play out with the Greek federation so far confirming only that Itoudis is part of their short list.

UPDATE: According to a tweet by Andrey Kartashov of TASS news agency, Itoudis, contrary to the Greek reports, has rejected the offer of the Greek federation.
