In an interview published in today’s edition of the French sport newspaper “L’Equipe” the young French center announced his decision.
As he explained: “It was a difficult decision to take. However, I was injured during the playoffs, I had a long season and I had talks with my club about my need to work on my body this summer. This does not mean that I am out of the French national team project”.
The French federation recently announced the plans of the national team on the road to Tokyo Olympics, however this summer both Gobert and Batum, two starters, will be missing.
