Bosnian first-round prospect Dzanan Musa said that the plan for him after getting picked in the upcoming NBA Draft is to join the league next season and not stay in Europe.

“Yes. I think that’s [getting to the NBA immediately] the best thing for me because I want to work with the best coaches in the world and to be the player I want to be in one year,” Musa told ESPN‘s Fran Fraschilla during the NBA Global Camp that took place in Treviso, Italy, when he was asked if he’ll come to the NBA right away when he’s drafted.

Musa, 19, is the highest projected European player in the 2018 Draft after Slovenian Luka Doncic and is expected to be selected between the 19th and 24th overall pick according to various mock drafts. He averaged 10.5 points plus 3.5 rebounds over 20 minutes per game in EuroCup, the top level competition he played this season with Croatian side Cedevita Zagreb.

In ABA League (that includes the top teams from countries of former Yugoslavia), Musa posted 12.6 points and 3.6 rebounds in 23 minutes per game while he won the Croatian league with his team, averaging 13.6 points, 3.8 rebounds plus 2.8 assists in 22:44 minutes per match.

As for what Musa is looking forward the most in the NBA? “Working hard with the coaches and staff and see what it’s like to play in the NBA.”
