AEK Athens and Xavier Rathan-Mayes have mutually agreed to terminate the player’s contract, the Greek club announced.
The announcement of AEK mentions that the club wanted to help Rathan-Mayes who is pursuing a deal in the USA. Eurohoops has learned that the player is in talks with the Toronto Raptors, New York Knicks and the Washington Wizards in order to potentially land a two-way contract.
Meanwhile, AEK has begun the search for a guard that will replace Rathan-Mayes on the team’s roster.
In the 2018-2019 Basketball Champions League, Rathan-Mayes averaged 8.5 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.3 rebounds.
