George Hill talks season with Bucks and the time he almost joined Olympiacos

MILWAUKEE — Eurohoops is in Milwaukee and had the chance to talk to George Hill about this current season and of course, his chance to could have joined Olympiacos back during the NBA lockout.

“Of course there is a sadness, but we had a good chance to go to the finals and that’s why I feel super excited about the direction Milwaukee has taken. I am happy about all this,” said the 33-year-old guard who was Bucks’ fifth scorer in 15 games in the playoffs with 11.5 points average.

In the summer, however, he remains free. Does he want to continue at Bucks? Will he leave to play in a seventh NBA  team or return to one of the previous five (Spurs, Pacers, Jazz , Kings, Cavaliers )? He is clear on Eurohoops TV.

“I would definitely want to stay. It was my pleasure to be a member of this organization. Our coach did a great job, bringing the players together as a family. “

But let’s go a bit back in time. In 2012, there was an NBA lockout and many players were looking for solutions to leave their country and play basketball in order not to “ruin” their season. One of them was Hill, who had moved from Spurs to Pacers and seriously considered Olympiacos’ option, confirming the story of those days.

“During the lockout, you ask me? Yes, I was thinking about playing somewhere else. Yes, I think it was in Olympiakos”, he replied when we asked him to confirm the information, even though for an NBA player it is not so easy to remember such a detail in his career.
