Kevin Durant and Devin Booker said that they will join Team USA for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

During the Media Day of the Phoenix Suns, both Durant and Booker were asked if they will play in the upcoming Olympics next summer. “I will play in the Olympics,” Durant said emphatically. “I’ll do it,” answered Booker.

After the completion of the 2023 FIBA World Cup and the second straight finish without a medal for the fourth-placed Team USA, several NBA superstars talked about their plans to join the national team next summer. While USA hasn’t won a medal in the last two World Championship tournaments, it has been the gold medalist in every Olympic Games since 2008.

Durant has been both a World Cup and Olympic Games winner. He debuted with the national team in the 2010 World Championship and won MVP at 21 years of age. He was a member of the squads that claimed gold medal in the 2012, 2016 and 2021 Olympics, alongside Booker during the latter.

While several American-born NBA superstars are expected to join USA next summer, it remains to be seen if they will be also have reigning MVP Joel Embiid on board. The Philadelphia 76ers center said that he’ll make a decision in the upcoming days between his native Cameroon, France (he has French citizenship since 2022) or USA (he’s been invited to join the team).
