Canada is one of the hosts of the 2020 Pre-Olympic Qualifying Tournaments en route to Tokyo’s Olympics later that summer and RJ Barrett is “excited” to join the national selection.
The New York Knicks rookie is the latest player to commit to playing for the national team next summer in the last-chance Olympic qualifying tournament at home, in Victoria.
“One-hundred percent I plan to play for my country this summer,” Barrett said, as adapted by cbc.ca.
Canada will take on Greece, Czech Republic, Turkey, China and Uruguay looking for a ticket to Tokyo.
