The Chinese Basketball Association has postponed its season indefinitely due to the outbreak of the coronavirus in China.

Most of the foreign players and coaches of the league have left China, and it is unclear when and if the season will resume. Adding up to these safety measures, all team practices have been banned to prevent the possibility of spreading the virus.

The season may continue in March. However, there’s not yet any final decision.

With many top-notch players released from their CBA duties until further notice, EuroLeague teams consider their options, with the transfers’ deadline ending February 26.

Meanwhile, FIBA has already announced that the women’s Basketball Pre-Olympic will not be held in China, but at Belgrade, Serbia.

“After carefully assessing the outbreak of coronavirus and prioritizing the safety of the players and team members, the FIBA Executive Committee decided to relocate the tournament in Belgrade,” according to the press release.
