Maccabi Tel Aviv’s undefeated streak in the Israeli League is over. Hapoel Eilat became the first team to beat the “Yellows” by taking an 86 – 81 win at home and improve to 7-11.

Kyvon Davenport (20 points, six rebounds) and Rayvonte Rice (18 points, five rebounds) led Hapoel to a victory that improved them to Jonathan Skoldejbrand added 14 points, Rafi Menco 13 points and Zin Ben Zvi 11 points.

For Maccabi, projected NBA Draft lottery pick Deni Avdija scored a new career-high 26 points on 6/8 2-pointers and 3/4 triples while grabbing six rebounds. The 19-year-old point forward could’ve had a more impressive output if he wasn’t so off-the-mark from the free-throw line (5/13). Othello Hunter had 18 points.

While this defeat doesn’t come at any major cost for Maccabi that remains the standings leader at 16-1, the team saw star guard Scottie Wilbekin exiting the game after twisting his ankle.
