D’Angelo Harrison, Maccabi Rishon take down Maccabi Tel Aviv in a thrilling finish

Maccabi Tel Aviv suffered its first loss since the Israeli League resumption and Maccabi Rishon was the squad to do it with 92-90. Rishon improved to 15-10 while the former stayed at 22-3 in the Winner Stage Group.

It was 88-80 in Rishon’s favor with three minutes remaining but Maccabi took over completely with eight straight points, interestingly, scored by four different players.

D’Angelo Harrison broke the tie with a two-pointer and, after Maccabi’s Tyler Dorsey answered, banked two free-throws to hand his squad the victory. Scottie Wilbekin had a chance to win it for Maccabi but couldn’t make the triple.

Harrison finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds while Oz Blayzer scored 16 and Darryl Monroe 15 points. For Maccabi, Angelo Caloiaro scored 20 in addition to Deni Avdija’s 15 points.

Earlier, Hapoel Jerusalem secured a 91-83 win over Hapoel Holon and improved to a 20-5 record compared to the opponent’s 12-13.

Suleiman Braimoh led the charge with 15 points, six rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block while also drawing eight fouls for a total index rating of 26.

Nimrod Levi scored 15 points as well while Emanuel Terry added 14 and Bar Timor 11 points. For Holon, Jermaine Love was outstanding with game-high 31 points on 5-6 from deep while Shavon Coleman helped with 17 and Jimmy Hall with 16 points.
