Zalgiris Kaunas returned to the court for the first time in months under the guidance of Martin Schiller and defeated VEF Riga 92-59 behind closed doors in the Zalgirio Arena.
Nigel Hayes and Marius Grigonis finished the game with 15 points, while Arturas Milaknis added 14 points as the first pre-season game rolled smoothly for the Kaunas side.
Zalgiris will continue its pre-season games in September, playing against Juventus Utena (September 4), Lietkabelis Panevezys (September 7) and in the “We’re Back Preseason Tour” against Panathinaikos (September 12) and Olimpia Milano/Alba (September 13).
