Maccabi Tel Aviv beat Hapoel Holon 86-84 after a battle of attrition and claimed its eighth Israeli League Cup trophy.

Five players scored in double-digits for Maccabi with Angelo Caloiaro scoring 15 followed by Scottie Wilbekin and Omri Casspi with 14 each. Elijah Bryant and Scottie Wilbekin added 12 each.

For Hapoel, Tyrus McGee had an amazing performance with 28 points on 10-14 shooting while Frederic Bourdillion helped with 11, as did Maxine de Zeeuw.

The game was tied at 73 with less than four minutes remaining and Maccabi was the team to come out on top thanks to Bender and Wilbekin who made a few crucial baskets while Caloiairo and  Bryant added some key free throws.

McGee and Isaiah Miles kept Holon alive and within a one-possession game but Maccabi decided to make it a free-throw shootout and not allow a three-point attempt until the end, which took away Holon’s options.
