Maccabi beats Hapoel Haifa to extend hot streak

Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv is in full swing and took down its third opponent for the week, Hapoel Haifa, with a 92-75 win on the road for the Israeli Super League.

Maccabi also extended its winning streak to three games in the domestic competition and improved to a 14-7 record. Keenan Evans and Khyri Thomas both scored 13 points to lead the way for Avi Even’s squad, and Jake Cohen followed with 12 points.

Adding up to the efforts, Angelo Caloiaro and Roman Sorkin had 11 points apiece, and Scottie Wilbekin dropped 10 points.

Maccabi took control from the tip-off, leading the opening quarter 28-16, and contained Haifa’s run in the second quarter to lead by 9 at halftime (40-49). After the break, Maccabi extended its lead to double digits again to secure the victory.

Will Rayman paced the hosts with 17 points, Gregory Vargas had 14 points and seven assists and Kadeen Allen added 12 points. Haifa’s two-game winning streak came to an end and they dropped to a 12-10 record.
