Zalgiris bounces back for 2-1 lead vs. Neptunas, Lietkabelis sweeps Juventus

Zalgiris Kaunas topped Neptunas Klaipeda 87-71  in Game 3 of their LKL quarterfinals series to get a 2-1 lead at home Saturday.

Lukas Lekavicius scored 26 points on 4-of-4 from the three-point line and big man Joffrey Lauvergne had 20 points along with 5 rebounds to help Zalgiris bounce back after Wednesday’s defeat on the road. Kazys Maksvytis’ squad got ahead with a 20-point lead in the second half to set the foundations for their victory and never trailed.

On the other end of the court, Benas Griciunas scored 14 points for Neptunas and Nojus Mineikis added 12. Game 4 of the series is underway Monday (May 9, 17:50 CET) in Klaipeda.

Earlier on Saturday, Lietkabelis Panavezys completed the sweep over Juventus with a 92-87 victory in Game 3 at home to move to the LKL semifinals. Djordje Gagic scored a game-high 26 points and 5 rebounds to lead the efforts of Lietkabelis, Gediminas Orelik tapped 18 points and 6 rebounds and Panagiotis Kalaitzakis added 13 points and a career-high 9 assists. Vytautas Sulksis had 19 points for the visitor that ended the season with an overall 15-18 record.
