Kerry Blackshear reportedly moving to Japan

Galatasaray big man Kerry Blackshear will continue his career in Japan with first division team Hiroshima Dragonflies according to Sportando’s Emiliano Carchia. Blackshear is the second European basketball player who is expected to move to the Japanese League after Kerem Kanter, Enes Freedom’s younger brother.

Blackshear, 25, comes from the sophomore season of his career. With Galatasaray, he averaged 11.5 points and 4.8 rebounds in 23.5 minutes over 11 Basketball Champions League games, along with 12.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 25.51 minutes through 35 matches of the Turkish BSL League.

In the BSL, Blackshear helped Galatasaray reach the semifinals for the first time since 2020. His team got eliminated 3-2 by reigning back-to-back EuroLeague champion Anadolu Efes.
