After beating Zalgiris Kaunas 84-83 in a thrilling game, Maccabi Tel Aviv came back to business in the Winner League by getting the 95-87 opening-round win over Ironi Nes Ziona.
Former NBA forward Jarell Martin was the best player on the court. The 28-year-old newcomer ended up with 23 points and ten rebounds, scoring 9/10 from two-point range in just 20 minutes on the court.
Wade Baldwin IV added 16 points and six assists, while Roman Sorkin contributed 21 points and five rebounds. Lorenzo Brown had only four points and five assists.
Darrun Hilliard was forced to an early exit due to knee pain.
The opponents were dragged by Tyler Bey (25 p.), and Shaq Buchanan (23 p.), while D.J. Cooper dished 18 assists.
