Suffering its second defeat in the Betsafe LKL this season, Zalgiris Kaunas lost 88-76 at home against Neptunas Klaipeda, dropping the first place in the standings to BC Wolves. The green-and-white club is now at 9-2, tied with Rytas Vilnius.

The returning Lithuanian talent on loan from Rytas Vilnius Azuolas Tubelis was Neptunas Klaipeda’s hero in the Zalgirio Arena, leading his team to victory with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Žygimantas Janavičius was also crucial with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds.

On Kazys Maksvytis’ team, instead, Keenan Evans had a 21-point losing effort but struggled from three-point range (1/6). Laurynas Birutis tried to help with 10 points and 5 rebounds, but he wasn’t enough.
