Recovering a double-digit cushion at the end of the third period and building additional separation over the last ten minutes, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv strolled to a domestic win on Tuesday.

Taking down Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan, 88-71, shaped a tie with Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv. At 11-3, the teams based in Tel Aviv share the top of Israel’s Ligat Winner standings.

Paving the way for the defending champions in Zisman, Jake Cohen set his best scoring showing of the 2023-24 campaign at 19 points behind 6/11 field goals. The experienced center also produced seven rebounds, three blocks, and one assist in Round 14 of the Regular Season. Bonzie Colson chipped in 14 points and six rebounds. Josh Nebo had 11 points.

Roman Sorkin (left knee) and captain John DiBartolomeo (personal) were unavailable for head coach Oded Kattash. Jasiel Rivero and Joe Thomasson, both coming out of international action, and Antonius Cleveland were out as well.

Kendale McCullum recorded 15 points, eight assists, six rebounds, and three steals as the Ramat Gan outfit fell to 10-6 and settled in a third-place tie with Bnei Ofek Dist Herzeliya. Recent addition Itay Moskovits followed with 12 points to his name.

In a quick turnaround and hoping to snap a three-game losing streak in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season, the Yellows visit ALBA Berlin on Thursday. A balanced 13-13 record narrowly fits in the Play-In zone with eight games left in the double-legged round-robin schedule.
