Carrington apologizes for entering the opponent’s locker room, receives fine

Following the meeting between Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem and Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv in Pais Arena on Sunday, Khadeen Carrington extended game intensity into the locker room of the visitors. He entered disrupting postgame discussions, leading several players to chase him in the corridor.

Carrington, 28, apologized for the incident, the team based in Jerusalem announced on Monday. Arguing that he wanted to talk to his close friend Braian Angola, not initiate a fight with his opponents, he went on confessing to being wrong to enter the locker room during a disciplinary hearing.

“Khadeen realized that he made a mistake and apologized for it. However, this is behavior that we at Hapoel Jerusalem will not accept. Therefore, we decided on appropriate disciplinary measures that will ensure such a case does not happen again,” said sport director Yonatan Alon.

The team issued a fine of 10,000 dollars. In addition, Carrington agreed to participate in the club’s informational activities in schools to strengthen the sports values of students. Hapoel Jerusalem also apologized to Hapoel Tel Aviv for the misconduct of the former Seton Hall standout.

Prevailing, 84-79, Hapoel Jerusalem progressed to the Semifinals of the 2024 Midgal State Cup. Besides the defending champions, Hapoel Altshuler Shaham Be’er Sheva/Dimona and Ironi Kiryat Lati Ata qualified, eliminating Hapoel Holon and Ironi Hai Motors Ness Ziona, respectively. Wrapping up the Quarterfinals, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv hosts Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan in Menora Mivtachim Arena on Monday.
