At the bottom of a tough week for Zalgiris, Lietkabelis earned an 87-85 win in Zalgirio Arena.
Experienced guard Jamel Morris put up a game-high 27 points, including nine in the fourth quarter. He made 7/8 two-pointers and 4/5 three-pointers, alongside four assists and four rebounds, lasting just over 32 minutes.
Punishing his former team, Augustine Rubit threw in 13 points, four rebounds, three assists, one block, and one steal. Kristian Kullamae added 18 more points. Nojus Radzius was on the injury list.
The lead for the visitors peaked at 11 points midway through the fourth period, but was reduced to one point with 5.6 seconds on the clock. Narrowly holding on shaped a 4-2 record in the 2025-26 Regular Season of Lithuania’s Betsson LKL.
Coming off EuroLeague losses to Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet and EA7 Emporio Armani Milan this week, the Kaunas outfit fell to 4-1 in the domestic league. Sylvain Francisco tallied seven out of a team-high 21 points in the last ten minutes, but the French guard was not enough for the team coached by Tomas Masiulis. Deividas Sirvydis ended up with 16 points plus eight rebounds, five assists, and one block.
Besides Dovydas Giedraitis in wrist surgery rehab, Nigel Williams-Goss was rested by the defending LKL champions on Sunday.
Switching to Round 6 of the EuroLeague Regular Season, Zalgiris meets FC Barcelona in Palau Blaugrana on Thursday. In Round 4 of the EuroCup, the Panevezys club visits JL Bourg in Ekinox on Wednesday.
