Maccabi Tel Aviv secured its 58th Israeli League championship after defeating Hapoel Tel Aviv and sealing the Finals series 3-1.

Oded Kattash’s team completed the job in Game 4 with a 83-79 win, overcoming a determined challenge from Hapoel, which had cut the deficit in the series with a Game 3 victory and was hoping to force a decisive fifth game.

The contest remained close throughout. Hapoel held a slim 43-42 advantage at halftime and entered the fourth quarter in front, 64-62, but Maccabi managed to regain control in the final period and close out the series.

Iffe Lundberg led the champions with 21 points, while Jaylen Hoard added 14. O’Shae Brissett and Jimmy Clark contributed 13 points each, John DiBartolomeo scored 10, and Roman Sorkin finished with nine.

For Hapoel, Yam Madar produced a game-high 26 points. Tomer Ginat and Tai Odiase added 13 points apiece, while Dan Oturu had nine. Vasilije Micic finished the game with seven points and seven assists.

The title marks another milestone in Maccabi’s storied history, extending its record as the most successful club in Israeli basketball.
