Arturs Zagars is joining the Zhejiang Golden Bulls of the Chinese CBA after spending the 2025-26 season with Fenerbahce.

The move will offer the 26-year-old Latvian point guard an opportunity to take on a larger role following a campaign in which his playing time was limited, particularly in the EuroLeague.

Zagars appeared in just five EuroLeague games last season, averaging 3,4 points and 1,6 assists in just under 14 minutes. He had a more regular role in the Turkish League, producing 6.9 points, 2.3 assists and 0.6 rebounds across 18 appearances.

Known for his court vision, creativity and ability to change pace, Zagars attracted international attention during Latvia’s run at the 2023 FIBA World Cup. He averaged 12.4 points and 7.4 assists during the tournament and set a World Cup record with 17 assists and no turnovers in the fifth-place game against Lithuania.

After injuries and limited continuity slowed his progress in recent seasons, Zhejiang will give him the chance to handle the ball, assume greater responsibility and rediscover his rhythm.
