Maccabi took down Hapoel in the Israeli derby

The game between Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv highlighted the Day 28 of the Israeli Basketball League. The hosts were a better team most of the time winning the game 90-82.

Despite the 8-0 run at the start of the third period by the visiting squad, it was Maccabi with a lead before the last quarter. The team coached by Neven Spahija had 3 points lead before the crucial part of the match (71-68). The hosts didn’t have the problem to close the game down the last stretch.

They won the last quarter 19-14 to seal their nineteenth win of the season as they stand on a 19-9 record.

Alex Tyus dominated the paint with scoring 17 points on 7-8 shots from the field followed by Pierre Jackson’s 14 points.

On the other hand, Raviv Limonad had 17 points for Hapoel, but couldn’t save the day.
