Rytas survives comeback effort from Juventus

Lietuvos Rytas survived the comeback effort from Juventus Utena and recorded a 79-78 road win making a break in the Lithuanian League playoffs series and leading 2-0.

Although the guests were up by ten points (47-37) after the first half of the game, Juventus didn’t give up and came back led by Anthony Ireland. With two and a half minutes left, it was a tie at 76 and details decided the winner as both teams played tough defense. Rytas players were a bit more focused and calmer at the free throw line just barley securing the game in the end.

Chris Kramer was the leader for Lietuvos with 20 points while Loukas Mavrokefalidis helped with 13 points. On the other side, Ireland scored game-high 25 points but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

A little bit earlier, Pieno Zvaigzdes successfully turned the game around against Neptunas Klaipeda to record a 92-87 victory and tie the series (1-1).

Jahenns-Ley Manigat led the winning side with 22 points while Vyacheslav Bobrov added 15 points. For the losing team, Brandon Fields scored game-high 25 points in addition to Renaldas Seibutis’ 18 points.
