Filip Petrusev helps Gonzaga in big win over Duke

NCAA #3 Gonzaga (6-0) beat #1 Duke (5-1) with 89-87 in the Maui Invitational championship match. The Bulldogs put on an offensive show on Wednesday in Hawaii. Serb freshman guard Filip Petrusev helped out with 5/7 from the field and 11 points, also grabbed four rebounds, dished one assist and put on a block in 13 minutes.

In the Bahamas, German Oscar da Silva posted seven points, eight rebounds and a block in Stanford’s (2-2) 62-46 loss to #25 Wisconsin (4-0). Lithuanian Lukas Kisunas had two points, a rebound and a block.

Slovenian Martin Kramplej notched eight points, four rebounds and a block in Creighton (5-1) 87-82 victory over #16 Clemson (5-1).

Portuguese freshman Neemias Queta followed his recent 24-point performance with five points and nine rebounds. However, Utah State (6-1) suffered an 87-82 loss at the hands of Arizona State (6-0).

Italian Guglielmo Caruso also scored five points and added six rebounds for Santa Clara (0-4) in its 80-66 defeat to Minnesota (4-0).

Latvian Karlis Garoza got six points and six rebounds and Polish Kuba Niziol scored three points in Cal Poly (1-3) 54-42 defeat to Texas State (3-1).

French forward Yves Pons had two points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal in #5 Tennessee (4-0) 92-81 win over Louisville (3-1).
