Corey Walden hands Hapoel Holon road win over Maccabi Tel Aviv

Corey Walden put on a near-perfect performance helping Hapoel Holon bounce back and grab a 94-86 road win over Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Israeli League. After this game, both teams hold 19-5 records at the top of the standings.

Walden nailed game-high 28 points for the victors including the last five points of the game which held off Maccabi’s big comeback and sealed the deal. He shot 7-8 from the field (4-4 triples) while also adding seven assists, two rebounds and two steals.

Guy Pnini helped him with 18 in addition to Shawn Jones and Darion Atkins’ 13 points each. On the other side, Jeremy Pargo scored 19 and Scottie Wilbekin 14 points.

Maccabi opened the game strong (30-15) but the guests quickly recovered trailing minimally at halftime (48-47). They took over the lead in the second half and were up by as much as 11 points (81-70) in the fourth quarter. Maccabi made a late run to and had a chance (89-86) but Walden stopped them in their tracks and gave Hapoel the win.
