Paul Lacombe leads ASVEL past Roanne

Dealing with the latest crisis of multiple key players forced to the sidelines, LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne draws solid scoring performances by Paul Lacombe and Chris Jones to take down Roanne, 93-83, Wednesday.

After banking in 17 points each in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 22 home win against Crvena Zvezda mts Friday, Lacombe produced a season-high 19 points and Jones added 18 points in the Betclic Elite LNB Pro A Regular Season Round 17 affair. Dylan Osetkowski and Marcos Knight followed with 14 and 13 points, respectively.

Antoine Diot was added to the packed injury list. Elie Okobo, William Howard, David Lighty, Victor Wembanyama, and Raymar Morgan remained sidelined. However, T.J. Parker’s side managed to go up to 10-6 with the third win in a row at the domestic level. At 9-11 in EuroLeague, ASVEL is projected to host FC Bayern Munich Tuesday and visit FC Barcelona Thursday.

Gavin Ware banked in 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds. David Holston contributed 15 points and Khadeen Carrington finished with 14 points. Moving back to the BCL, La Jeanne is set to take on MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg in Germany Wednesday.

Elsewhere in the French league, Nanterre 92 made it four in a row edging Paris, 83-80. Chris Horton stood out packing 18 points.

Boulogne Metropolitans 92 currently leads LNB thanks to a 13-3 W-L tally. AS Monaco follows second sitting at 11-5.
