LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne grabbed an important 91-79 victory over Élan Béarnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez in Betclic Elite Pro A League.

T. J. Parker’s team got back on the winning track, after five straight losses (four in the EuroLeague), and improved to 6-4, while Pau-Orthez fell to 3-7.

Amine Noua led the winning side with 21 points, while Youssoupha Fall and Jonah Mathews added 18 points each.

Retin Obasohan also hit the double-digits with 14 points, while Parker Jackson-Cartwright had a near-double-double with nine points and assists.

Garrett Sim was the top scorer for Pau-Orthez with 18 points, Vitalis Chikoko followed him with 13, while Enzo Shahrvin added 11 and Markeith Cummings 10 points.

The hosts took control at L’Astroballe already in the first period and went a big 66-47 lead midway through the third period, but Pau-Orthez responded.

They managed to cut the deficit to only five points at the beginning of the final period, but ASVEL pushed them back, defended their lead, and deservedly won.

The defending champions now sit in sixth place, while Metropolitans 92 remained tied on top with Cholet, after another amazing game from Victor Wembanyama.
