Victor Wembanyama couldn’t lead his team to a win in its latest French League game. The favorite for the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft had team-highs 20 points and eight rebounds plus six assists in a 78 – 77 loss of Boulogne-Levallois to struggler Blois. The winning side was 6-13 and second-to-last in the standings before this match.

Tyler Johnson handed Blois the victory with a 3-pointer with 15 seconds remaining, as Wembanyama lost his footing while trying to guard him. Boulogne had a chance to win the match but Wembanyama committed a traveling violation.

Wembanyama finished with 7-17 shots. His team was leading 63 – 72 with five minutes remaining but Blois scored 10 unanswered points to go up 73 – 72 with 1:18 left. After five straight points by Wemby, Amadou Sow cut the deficit to two and then Johnson hit the go-ahead bucket.

Sow led all scorers in the game with 25 points while grabbing eight rebounds. Johnson dropped 15 points.

Boulogne remains second, now on a 14-6 record.
