Bad news coming from France, where the 39-year-old veteran International Mickael Gelabale announced he suffered a brain attack during a morning session with his current Pro B team, Elan Chalon. However, he has also assured everybody he is feeling okay at the moment.

“During Monday morning’s training session, I experienced such symptoms that I was taken to the emergency room at Chalon Hospital. The MRI then detected a brain attack. Fortunately caught in time, I was treated immediately and underwent additional examinations in the intensive care unit and then in neurology. Today I am pleased to announce that I am back home”, Mickael Gelabale said in an official press release on Elan Chalon’s website.

“However, I will have to rest for several weeks before resuming my professional activity and unfortunately I will not be able to return for the end of the season. I have good hope that the medical will gradually subside, which therefore does not exclude a return to the court when I am allowed to do so”, the 39-year-old French legend added about coming back on the court.

The former Minnesota Timberwolves player was averaging 6.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game in this year’s Pro B with Elan Chalon. During his career, which started back in 2001 with Cholet, he won four medals (two bronzes, one silver, and one gold) at EuroBasket and one bronze medal at the 2014 World Cup. He also played with Real Madrid, Khimki, and Valencia.
