Gianmarco Pozzecco notches first win with ASVEL

Gianmarco Pozzecco took over LDLC ASVEL from T.J. Parker. He lost on his debut in EuroLeague against Virtus Bologna but started his reign in the French Betclic ELITE with a convincing 91-72 win over SIG Strasbourg.

ASVEL made a crucial run in the third period, outscoring Strasbourg 27-9, and entered the final 10 minutes with an insurmountable 71-48 lead.

The Villeurbanne side improved to 6-3 in the domestic championship, while Strasbourg fell to 3-5.

Youssoupha Fall had a great game in Pozzecco’s first win with the French team, scoring 17 points on a perfect 8/8 shooting from the field. Joffrey Lauvergne was on the verge of a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Nando De Colo added 13 points. The talented Noam Yaacov followed with 12 points, and Paris Lee added 11 while dishing out six assists.

For Strasbourg, Phil Booth had 18 points, Quinton Hooker had 17, while the Canadian Nysier Brooks added 12.

ASVEL will now try to secure its first EuroLeague win of the season on the road in Kaunas against Zalgiris (02/11).
