Sunday in French basketball featured all three EuroLeague representatives, but only one of them managed to win.
After their traumatic loss to Virtus and with Spanoulis publicly complaining for the first time about the off-court issues affecting his team, Monaco responded with a comfortable 113–86 victory over Le Portel. Despite 31 points from Mike Smith, the visitors never stood a chance. Elie Okobo, with 20 points, was the home team’s leading scorer.
Things went much worse for Paris Basketball, who were soundly beaten by Boulazac, 87–103. Jared Rhoden’s 21 points were not enough for the home side, who were playing catch-up throughout the game.
ASVEL also suffered defeat, losing a closer contest to Dijon, 99–90, despite 23 points from Braian Angola.
