In a significant move for French basketball, Adrien Moerman has officially signed with Chorale Roanne for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. Announced this Sunday, the deal marks a sentimental homecoming for the two-time EuroLeague champion, who returns to the club where his professional journey began nearly twenty years ago.
Moerman’s arrival serves as a definitive statement of intent for Roanne as they intensify their pursuit of promotion back to the top-flight Betclic Elite. Currently dominating the second-tier Elite 2 with a 19-5 record, the club has built a formidable veteran core, with the 37-year-old power forward joining fellow former EuroLeague standout Antoine Diot to bolster the roster for the final stretch.
Having helped La Chorale secure a French League championship back in 2007, Moerman expressed deep enthusiasm for the reunion, stating it is a “pleasure to return to my roots.” Reflecting on his full-circle journey, he added, “It’s here that I entered the professional world, and I’ll have the opportunity to showcase my qualities with my former team.”
Moerman brings an unparalleled resume to the squad, highlighted by back-to-back Turkish Airlines EuroLeague titles with Anadolu Efes in 2021 and 2022. Following a global career through elite leagues in Spain, Turkiye, Russia, and most recently in Taiwan, his presence provides Roanne with championship-caliber leadership.
Head coach T.J. Parker emphasized that Moerman’s versatility will be decisive. “I know Adrien well,” Parker noted. “I know he can bring his experience and warrior mentality. He gives his all on the court. He knows what it takes to win.”
With 14 games left in the Regular Season and a two-game lead at the top of the standings, Roanne looks poised to secure their return to France’s top-tier division.
