AS Monaco has paid its 2025–26 Luxury Tax, clearing its debt with the LNB and removing the risk of exclusion from the Betclic ELITE playoffs, according to BeBasket.

The payment, made on March 23, is estimated between €1.65 million and €1.8 million, bringing the club’s total contributions to the league this season to around €2.25 million. Part of the sum will be redistributed among other Betclic ELITE teams.

This step is part of a broader financial recovery effort led by the Monégasque state, which has already injected €2.5 million since early March to cover urgent expenses. Debts toward the LNB and FFBB have now been settled.

While Monaco has secured its place in the playoffs and aims to finish the season without disruption, uncertainty remains. A court hearing on April 3 will determine the club’s financial future, with possible scenarios including insolvency proceedings and increased state control.

Despite the off-court issues, Monaco continues its season, including upcoming EuroLeague road games.
