ASVEL steals Game 1 on the road

ASVEL Villeurbanne steals game one on the road against Le Mans with a 68-81 victory and leads the series 1-0.

Since the tip-off, the visitors had a great first quarter (15-27), but Le Mans came right back in the second and third periods (53-58). Finally, ASVEL with A.J. Slaughter (18 points) leading the way off the bench controlled the fourth quarter (15-23) and picked up the victory. Justin Harper put up 17 points and nine rebounds for the winners. For Le Mans, Justin Cobbs finished with 14 points.

In Strasbourg, the home team defeated Nanterre 83-56 with an incredible second half and leads the series 1-0.

It was all tied up after twenty minutes (31-31), but Strasbourg’s 22-2 incredible run in the third quarter put the hosts up by 20 points (53-33). Nanterre was limited to just 10 points in the third period. David Logan put up 17 points for the winners, while Jamar Wilson scored 13 for Nanterre.
