After a tough EuroLeague week with back-to-back losses, Fenerbahce Beko recovered enough of its form in the Turkish League to beat fellow Istanbul side Besiktas 82 – 74 on the road. Fener remains at the top of the BSL standings with an 8-1 record while Besiktas dropped to 5-4.

Melih Mahmutoglu led a balanced Fener offense with 18 points. Marko Guduric added 15 points (including 8-8 free throws in the last minute), Achille Polonara posted 14 points plus eight rebounds and Pierria Henry scored 10. Their team was without guard Nando De Colo and big man Devin Booker.

Jordan Bone had 21 points and five assists, Trevon Bluiett finished with 17 points plus five rebounds and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson scored 17 for Besiktas.

Besiktas was up 37 – 27 halfway through the second quarter, only for Fener to answer with 19 points in five minutes and take a 41 – 46 lead at halftime.

Fener extended its lead to 11 after the break and repelled every comeback effort their opponents made. Besiktas made it 59 – 62 three minutes into the fourth period but Fener pulled away again to reclaim a double-digit advantage (64 – 74) with eighty seconds to play and all but secure victory.
